No other book, save Harper Lee's
To Kill A Mockingbird, made a
stronger impact on me growing up
than John Steinbeck's Of Mice
And Men. My English teacher, a
burly gym coach of a man, kept
pushing Hemingway and dismissed
Steinbeck as a "Commie Pinko".
Hemingway's overtly macho pros
struck me as being nothing more
than a mask to hide a massive
inferiority complex and some
other issues. Don't think that
didn't get me a trip to the
principal's office! 40 years
later my opinion of Hemingway
has not softened and I still
consider Steinbeck the superior
writer. A matter of taste, I
suppose, but Steinbeck taught me
more about friendship and
locality than any other book
before or since.

The boots worn by the Hiro
characters and the pearl
necklace worn by Aiko are, to
the best of my knowlege, no
longer available. I have no idea
where the bucket came from. The
textures on George's shirt and
Lenny's overalls were replaced
from the originals to better
suit the period. As always,
figure set-up in DAZ Studio 5.5
and final render in Bryce 5.5.
No rabbits were harmed in the
creation of this render.
