Justice in Skid Row
Once a bustling center of both
residential and commercial
prosperity, my home town has
become a slum. Shortly after the
urban sprawl had reached its
peak a powerful crime syndicate
moved in buying out businesses
and using them as fronts for
drug smuggling and illegal
weapons trade, with the police
unable to combat the syndicate
the Nakatomi Corporation was
called in to restore law and
order, however between the cost
of paying the Nakatomi
Corporation and paying for the
repairs from the collateral
damage caused by the street war
that had been waged, the city
went bankrupt, defaulting to Mr.
Nakatomi him self allowing him
and his corporation seize
control and impose martial law.
The citizenry now had law and
order, how every they had lost
much more the war between the
corporation and the syndicate
and turned the city in to an
urban waste land, with freedom
and prosperity for no one.
Late one evening I happened upon
one of the Corporation's
soldiers beating on an old woman
who was unable to pay a ticket
he had issued her for J walking.
In that instant I snapped
ambushing the soldier from
behind allowing the woman to
scurry away as I subdued her
assailant. I then relieved him
of his Pulse Gloves and
Multi-Spectral goggles and from
that point forward I vowed to
take the fight to the Nakatomi
Corporation... One soldier at a
time if need be. The name that
now echoes on the lips of the
down trodden and in the
nightmares of Mr. Nakatomi is
Xenophage... my name, the name
they gave me.
