It's the 2nd and we've got only one post? Maybe everybody's trying to recover from last month. For what it's worth, here's my first one...

The Jules Verne novel "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea" has long been a constant source of fascination for me. The 1954 Walt Disney film version just reinforced this grand obsession. After seeing James Mason as Captain Nemo, I wanted to become Captain Nemo, so much that later in life I grew a beard and have kept it for over 35 years. My only problem with becoming Captain Nemo was that I was (and still am) deathly afraid of water! No problem though, I just transposed all the elements of the book and film to outer space. I figured it would work just as well.

As always...Figure set-up in DAZ Studio 2.3 and final render in Bryce 5.5. Some elements in this render were untextured and textures were added in Bryce. Some set elements created in Bryce with native primitives. No post work except for adding signature and copyright. The cat texture is one I've had for years and has seemed to have disappeared. No idea where it came from, but it looks like the cat I had for almost 18 years. If anyone deserves to be in space with me, it's him (just don't let my wife hear me say that).
