There's a common misunderstanding regarding the Grimm brothers' fairy tale The Frog Prince. The frog was not kissed by the princess!
For returning the princess' gold ball from the well, the frog asks for sitting at her table, eating from her plate and sleeping in her bed. Forced by her father to stay true to her promises, the princess fullfills the first two wishes of the frog. But when he asks to sleep in her bed, the princess reacts like most women would, if some kind of frog wants to sleep beside them:

Then she felt beside herself with rage, and picking him up, she threw him with all her strength against the wall, crying, "Now will you be quiet, you horrid frog!"
But as he fell, he ceased to be a frog, and became all at once a prince with beautiful kind eyes.

Okay, this is a strange way to turn a frog into a prince. Maybe this is, why the kissing version is more popular.
