The Wendigo

The Wendigo (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wendigo) is a harmful spirit in Algonquian myths. It is a cannibalistic spirit who either possessed humans or were transformed from humans. Peopled who practiced cannibalism where more likely to be affected. The Wendigo is associated with the North, winter and lean times. In some instances its description is almost that of a zombie.
